Wigan ace set for Aston Villa medical
Wigan winger, Charles N’Zogbia, is set to seal his move to Aston Villa after he undergoes a medical with the West Midlands club on Thursday.
Earlier in the week, the two clubs agreed a £9.5m fee for the Frenchman, who has only one year left to run on his contract and is understood to be unhappy at the DW Stadium.
Aston Villa boss, Alex McLeish, will be hoping that the 25 year-old will go some way towards filling a wide role left vacant by the departures of Stewart Downing and Ashley Young to Liverpool and Manchester United, respectively.
N’Zogbia will undergo his medical at Villa’s Bodymoor Heath training facility, after agreeing personal terms.
The French international is understood to be hoping to sign a five-year contract with Villa, and is looking for a higher standard of football, which he feels he won’t find whilst a part of the Latics setup.
