Roberto Martinez has spoken with delight about his new signing Jean Beausejour, claiming that he has settled in to life with Wigan rapidly.
The Chile international moved from Championship promotion chasers Birmingham in the January transfer window, whilst Martinez says that he is adapting to the change of scene very well.
Martinez claims that he realized this during the 27-year-olds debut against Everton on Saturday, in which Beasuejour played a key part in their impressive drew against Everton.
The Latics boss said, “Jean has settled in really well,” he said. “He’s a specialist in the position that he plays and he’s been a real boost to the squad.
“I think it’ll take a little time to get the benefit of his quality. There are certain situations where he can find a cross where maybe you don’t expect it, and I think we’ll get that very soon.
“It was pleasing to see such a natural home debut from Jean. It seemed like he’s been playing for us for a long time.
“He’s a great character and he’s fitted in extremely well with what we want to do.”
Wigan currently sit at the foot of the Premier League table and have only won 3 games all season. They are 5 points off 17th placed Wolves.
