Wigan Man Utd Odds : Red Devils look for convincing win at the DW Stadium in hunt for Premiership title

Premier League leaders Manchester United travel to the DW Stadium on Wednesday night to take on Wigan who are fighting for their lives at the bottom of the table, as punters lump on Alex Ferguson’s side with confidence.

Wigan had put back to back wins together before they were beaten 2-1 by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge at the weekend.

Afterwards, Roberto Martinez was less than happy with the officials in this game, with both Chelsea goals appearing to be clearly offside.

Martinez will be pleased with the spirit his side showed though and will know they are playing well enough to potentially cause Manchester United some problems.

The Latics sit 19th in the league, level on points with Blackburn and QPR. With their last two games being against Rovers and Wolves, Martinez will want to make sure his side are still in contention by the time these matches come around.

As for Manchester United, they had another victory on Saturday beating QPR 2-0. With Manchester City losing to Arsenal, you would feel the title is all but over as United have an eight point gap over their local rivals.

Sir Alex Ferguson will not allow any complacency from his side though and will be sending them out at Wigan demanding a win to move them one step close to their 20th league title.

The Red Devils are in a fantastic run of form and have not lost in the league since January. However, they will know they face a Wigan side who need the points just as much, or perhaps even more, than them .

Martinez’s side do face a massive test at the DW Stadium. Wigan have never taken a point of United in the league. Ferguson’s side have also scored 21 goals in their last five games against the Latics, conceding none.

That said, it should be a entertaining game on Wednesday evening. It all starts from 7.45pm.
