Wigan Manager Rues on Missed Chances

Latics manager Roberto Martinez has admitted that he was disappointed not to win all three points at his former club Swansea.
New Swansea goal keeper Michel Vorm saved a second-half penalty from Ben Watson, securing the Swans a point in their first Premier League game at the Liberty Stadium.

Wigan opened the game by sitting back and defending, however in contrast they changed the emphasis after half-time and went on to hit the Swansea woodwork on two occasions.

This was the first time Martinez had returned to his old employers since leaving them for Wigan, and he believed that one goal would have gave his side the perfect away performance.

Martinez said: “I think we created enough chances to get the goal.
“When you hit the post, the crossbar, then get a penalty I think it showed the difference in the second half.”
“We weren’t a threat but I felt we contained Swansea very well. Second half I thought we used the ball very well and in good positions.”
“And to create the amount of chances we had in the second half it is disappointing not to get the three points.”
