Wigan v Blackburn Live Streaming: Wigan look to carry European momentum into Lancashire Derby

The latest Wigan v Blackburn live streaming news as the Latics are considered as slight 5/4 favourites in the betting by Paddy Power to get a win over local rivals Blackburn Rovers in the Lancashire Derby.

Blackburn will have a slightly fresher team going into the Lancashire derby clash on Sunday afternoon which sees Wigan in action for the second time in 3 days.

Wigan are on a high at the moment having picked up a 3-1 win on their home European debut against Slovenian side Maribor on Thursday night.

The Latics will be keen to repeat the same results against their local rivals meaning that on-loan striker Nick Powell will likely start on Sunday having scored a brace in their historic win.

Powell will most likely act as a direct replacement for Grant Holt who is still struggling with a knee injury which has hampered him ever since joining the club from Norwich over the summer.

Holt joins the rather extensive list of players out on the sidelines including first team names such as club captain Gary Caldwell, Ali Al-Habsi, Shaun Maloney and Ivan Ramis.

With Wigan missing so many players, it will give Blackburn a chance to firmly establish themselves a top half side with Rovers’ currently sitting in 9th place after the first 10 games.

Blackburn manager Gary Bowyer will be boosted by the fact that he has no new injury concerns to worry about meaning that he likely to field the same side that has won their last two games.

Bowyer does have a couple of players back from injury as the likes of Ben Marshall and Alan Judge recovering from their respective injuries over the past week and are likely to at least appear on the bench for the clash with Wigan.

Blackburn will still be without a couple of their long term injured players though with midfielders David Dunn and Ruben Rochina the most notable exceptions missing from the squad.

Having already scored 9 goals this season, Blackburn will hope that Jordan Rhodes will be able to get his tally into
double figures for the season and continue to lead the goalscoring charts at both Ewood Park and The Championship itself.

With Wigan and Blackburn both in good form, Sunday’s clash will go down to the wire with both sides knowing that a win in the Lancashire derby could do wonders for the rest of their season.
