Will Arsene Wenger make these two his final signings of the summer?

Wenger has always said he will buy quality if needed and if at the right price. If that means selling some those he brought to the club whilst nobodies then so be it.

There have been some big names linked with Arsenal recently although it could be suggested that some will not arrive until the Fabregas and Nasri situations are resolved.

The Per Mertesacker situation looks to be hotting up in all honesty and where else can you find someone as strong as him and as experienced as he is for around £6m? You can’t is the answer and that means even Wenger would surely be considering a move for the Germany international.

The next player I believe Wenger is keen to bring in is that of Juan Mata, he likes him and rates him highly, he certainly has the skills to be Arsenal player and as long as he doesn’t want to go back to Spain after three years he would be a player that will frighten most Premiership defenders.

The third is rumoured is rumoured to be a midfielder, a defensive one at that and names like Joey Barton, Scott Parker, Daniele De Rossi have been mentioned although I cannot seriously see any of them at the Emirates either this summer or ever in fact.

Perhaps Wenger only requires two more players to complete his summer shopping although I do wonder which of this group of players will be brought in prior to the start of the new season at the weekend.
