Wolves Blackburn Odds : Relegation six pointer with all money on Rovers away win at Molineux

It will be the proverbial ‘six-pointer’ when Wolves welcome Blackburn to Molineux on Saturday, with both sides scrapping at the bottom of the table. For punters, it seems there will only be one result, with plenty of interest on Steve Kean’s side at a mouth watering 11/5 with Paddy Power.

Level on points, Blackburn only find themselves outside of the bottom three because their goal difference is not quite as bad as Wolves’.

Indeed, it is testament to the faith the Rovers owners have shown in manager Steve Kean that he has managed to guide them from the foot of the table to where they are now, with their heads just about above water.

They know, however, that a defeat to Wolves will drag them back into the bottom three, and undo much of the good work they have done in recent weeks.

Much of Blackburn’s recent success can be attributed to the goals scored by summer signing Yakubu. The striker has netted 13 times this season and finds himself among the Premier League top scorers, despite his side’s lowly position.

But Wolves have a striker of their own who has been in the goals. Scotland international, Steven Fletcher has scored 10 goals in this campaign so far, and will no doubt be looking to add to that tally.

When these two met earlier in the season, it was Wolves who emerged victorious with a 2-1 at Ewood Park.

But it seems Blackburn are made of tougher stuff these days and will prove a real test for Wolves, who are enduring something of a struggle themselves at the moment.

Last season, Rovers completed the double over Wolves, winning 3-0 at home before recording a 3-2 victory at Molineux later in the campaign.

Overall, though, these sides have been pretty evenly matched historically. Wolves have managed 33 wins, while Blackburn have 35. In total, there have been 19 draws.

It all sets up what should be an edgy affair with both sides knowing that it is a must win game.
