Sources suggest that Wolves manager, Mick McCarthy, could hand James McFadden a Premier League lifeline after he was released by Birmingham City.
The 28 year-old would be available on a free transfer as he is now a free agent, and as a result would not be subject to the transfer deadline.
The Scotland international has apparently turned down the chance of going back North, rejecting an offer from Aberdeen as he looks to stay in England.
McFadden played over five seasons with Everton, making over 100 appearances for the Toffees, and could provide backup should Kevin Doyle move away from the Molineux in January.
