Wolves captain and new-boy Roger Johnson was happy with his side’s performance after their 0-0 draw with local rivals Aston Villa, securing them another clean sheat.
Since joining Wolves this summer, Johnson has took a commanding role within the side and had another impressive performance today as they moved to the top of the Premier League following consecutive wins against Blackburn and Fulham and their draw on Saturday.
Although Wolves struggled to create any promising chances, Johnson was delighted with their defensive performance yet again.
“It’s good, obviously another clean sheet after last week is big for us,” Johnson said.
“As a team that’s what we set out to do and I just think we lacked going forward, and didn’t use the ball very well today.
“They had a few chances, but we defended well and Wayne (Hennessey) was on form.
“They had a great spell 15 minutes after half-time and it was tough, backs-to-the-walls stuff.
“I said to the boys we had to weather the storm and we did, we got through it and got a point out of it.”
