Fulham FC targeting experienced Portuguese winger

It is believed that Jol still wishes to add some width to the squadFulham FC manager Martin Jol is believed to have pinpointed the experienced Hannover 96 winger Sergio Pinto as he looks to add more width to his current squad.

The 30 year old has featured for Hannover since transferring from Aachen in 2007 making 108 appearances in midfield although he did feature as a forward for Aachen at the time. Pinto has already played eight times this season, finding the net on one occasion but assisting twice.

At his current age it is unlikely that the Bundesliga club will allow him to leave the club on a loan period alone and Fulham may find that they would have to stump up a full transfer fee. He is currently valued around the £3m mark and whilst enquiries are believed to be at a very early stage, there is the possibility that Pinto could move as early as January.

Jol has targeted a few players since arriving at the club at the beginning of June although he may not have made as many signings as he will have liked. Whilst Pinto’s age may be a concern he would compliment the likes of Bobby Zamora and Bryan Ruiz from out wide. Should Fulham go ahead with an offer they may be required to offload a player who is deemed surplus to requirements.
