Man Utd v Reading Odds : Punters pile into Manchester United to heap misery on Royals

Its Man Utd v Reading in the evengin kickoff as William Hill release the latest odds and report all the money is coming in for a convincing win for Sir Alex Ferguson’side.

Two sides with very different ambitions for the Premier League season meet at Old Trafford on Saturday evening as Manchester United take on Reading.

United are of course twelve points clear at the top, but that could be nine by the time this one kicks-off, whereas Reading are only off the bottom of the league on goal difference, so need to avoid a hiding here.

The Royals have sacked Brian McDermott this week and it doesn’t look as though a replacement will be made in time, so Eamonn Dolan is given the daunting task of taking the squad to Old Trafford for what could be his one and only game in charge.

Sir Alex Ferguson will be looking at this one as a chance for his men to grab a few goals and give everyone at the club something to cheer about after a tough few days. The Red Devils lost to Real Madrid in the Champions League and then drew 2-2 with Chelsea in the FA Cup after being 2-0 up at one stage, so March hasn’t gone all that well so far.

In the Premier League though, United have been in terrific form since the turn of the year as they have dropped just two points in 2013 and look all but certain to lift the Premier League title.

Robin van Persie has now gone five games without finding the net, which is somewhat of a drought when you consider how prolific he has been over the last year or so. The Dutchman can be backed at 3/1 to score first and as he is desperate to for goals, this could prove to be decent value.

Ferguson wants to wrap up the title as soon as possible to avoid a similar situation to last season and a few more wins could see them over the finish line. They are at 1/6 to come out on top here.

As for Reading, this is going to be a very tough 90 minutes for them and their season isn’t going to depend on what they do at places such as Old Trafford.

That said though, they can’t afford to lose heavily as things are so tight at the bottom, which means goal difference could be key come the end of the campaign.

The sacking of McDermott seemed a little bit harsh, but you are not surprised by managers losing their jobs at the moment as it really is crunch time of the season.

Reading have to come to Manchester United and defend for their lives. The longer they can keep United at bay, then the more frustrated the home fans are sure to become.

This squad has shown a lot of spirit at times this term and it is time for them all to unite on Saturday. You can even back them at 18/1 to win, which gives you an idea of the task Reading have.

This one does have a home win written all over it, but you can never be 100 per cent sure in the Premier League. The action starts at 5.30PM on Saturday.
