Arsenal manager in search of consistency

Arsene Wenger has demanded his Arsenal team to develop some consistency following their 7-1 thumping of Blackburn on Saturday at the Emirates Stadium.

Dutch superstar Robin Van Persie inspired the Gunners with a hat-trick, leading them to their first Premier League win of 2012, closing the gap with fourth-placed Chelsea to 3 points following their 3-3 draw with Manchester United.

Meanwhile, Wenger has claimed that he does not read too much into the results of big games, and insists that his team need to produce another impressive display against in-form Sunderland next weekend at the Stadium of Light.

“We need consistency,” the Arsenal manager said.

“Strangely I don’t feel we played very badly at Fulham, nor at Swansea, nor against Manchester United, but every time we just couldn’t get the result and in the end it affects your belief.
“It was important to the confidence of the side that we won a game and get three points.

“This will help us slowly to believe again that we could win – to win 1-0 at Sunderland would be fantastic and that is what we have to prepare for, to produce a good performance.”
