Chelsea considering Real Madrid offer

Higuain has now been offered to ChelseaChelsea are considering an offer made by Real Madrid regarding striker Gonzalo Higuain with sources suggesting the Argentine is being offered to numerous clubs.

Although Chelsea could be considered as healthy in the striker department, the form of Fernando Torres and the African Cup of Nations just around the corner, they may deem it a risk not to delve into the market this January for more firepower.

Higuain now appears to be surplus to requirements at the Spanish giants and the club are believed to be offering the 24 year old for figures around €50m – close to £42m. Although this figure is believed to be pricy by the Chelsea management, the possible sale of some fringe players, plus any cash received for Nicolas Anelka is sure to sweeten the blow.

Should Chelsea decide that Higuain could be a stayer in the Premiership then they will also face competition from AC Milan who see Higuain as a prime replacement for Cassano and although there is unlikely to be a bidding war of such, the player is sure to join whichever Champions League club can match Real Madrid’s valuation.
